Students, in the competitive job market, having the right career tools are integral in creating a professional brand that advances your career. Your ability to adapt a resume to target a specific job, dress to impress, and deliver an elevator pitch with confidence can be game changing at a career fair.

We kick off Career Week with a ‘speed’ skill-building activity on Monday. There will be 4 different workstations set up in the Career Advancement Center:  Practice your pitch | Resume/Cover Letter Review | Mock Interviews | Dress To Impress video.  Register to attend, check-off which of the stations you want to visit, and then during 6-8 pm, rotate through the workstations in 15-minute intervals.

Monday -- 6-8 pm in the Career Advancement Center (CAC). You can choose to stop in on one or more of the skill-building sessions on the 4 essential tools required at any employment-networking event.

     - The "why hire me?" pitch (aka elevator pitch). Practice one-two minutes of concise messaging that tells the story of their academic credentials, industry passions, and career goals as they line-up with the targeted company and positions they seek to fill.

     - Resume reviews and edits with printed templates available for takeaway.

     - Dress code for career fairs and interviews. (End with a “What Not To Wear” sound bite.)

     - Resume & Cover Letter reviews.
