 e childhood\, Welles became a symbol of courage and selflessness on Septem
 ber 11\, 2001. Survivors later shared how a young man wearing a red bandan
 na repeatedly led people to safety from the South Tower of the World Trade
  Center before returning to help others.\n\nHis story\, told in The Red Ba
 ndanna: A Life. A Choice. A Legacy.\, demonstrates the lasting impact of c
 haracter\, courage and a life lived with purpose.\n\nAs part of Northwood 
 University’s observance of the 25th anniversary of September 11\, studen
 ts\, faculty\, staff and community members are encouraged to wear a red ba
 ndanna to the game as a visible tribute to Welles and to honor the lives l
 ost and the heroes who emerged on 9/11.
