Vaccine Mandates and Liberty: Where Should We Draw the Line?

When it comes to mandatory vaccinations, where should we draw the line between preserving personal liberties and protecting public health? The production and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines over the past two years have reinvigorated this debate in the public sphere. At this hybrid event, our presenters will discuss public policy approaches on this topic and also outline important principles to consider. We’ll also share more about the 2021-22 Bauervic Essay Competition for college and high school students. Presenters include Mike Van Beek, Director of Research at the Mackinac Center, and Dr. Dale Matchek, Chair of economics at Northwood University. Holly Wetzel, Mackinac Center’s Director of Public Relations, will moderate the discussion. Join us from 6-8 p.m. EST in person at the Griswold Center on Northwood University’s campus or stream the discussion online. This event is sponsored by the Charles M. Bauervic Foundation and presented in conjunction with Northwood University.
